About this Role

The Director, Responsible Investing Data & Technology will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Responsible Investing (RI) at Nuveen. This position is instrumental in developing and implementing a comprehensive data and technology roadmap tailored for Responsible Investing. Serving as a liaison between the RI team, stakeholders within the firm, and the IT department, the director ensures that all technological resources align with the firm’s commitment to responsible investing. This role demands a strategic approach to align data and technology with RI functions, including Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) integration, stewardship, and impact investing. The director will oversee project priorities, define key performance indicators, and report progress against established roadmaps, embedding sustainable practices within the company’s investment processes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate across business groups and affiliates to ensure strategic alignment of RI data and technology.
  • Set project priorities and lead project planning and coordination.
  • Define KPIs and report on progress against the roadmap.
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements for sprint planning and testing.
  • Facilitate ESG integration, stewardship, and client and regulatory reporting.
  • Develop socialization and training for new tools and data sets.
  • Manage the portfolio of ESG and impact data vendors.
  • Drive innovation through current ESG data, vendors, and product offerings.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years in tech product management or technology project implementation within the financial sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to work independently.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate strategy and technology development to stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in ESG data analysis and familiarity with related technology products.
  • Strong understanding of responsible investing processes and needs.
