The Delta sustainability team believes that setting a bold vision and accelerating our work to deliver sustainable travel experiences and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 isn’t only good for our planet, it’s a business imperative for Delta’s long-term success.

The Sustainability Graduate Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in sustainability by working cross-functionally on projects related to reducing waste, single-use plastics, fuel consumption and carbon emissions; duties can range ESG reporting; advocating with local, state and federal policymakers for the needed incentives to increase SAF production in the U.S., and innovation and collaboration in pursuit of a more sustainable future. 

The Sustainability Intern will work on-site at Delta’s World Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.

 Primary Functions:

  • Support efforts related to execution of Delta’s Sustainability strategy, such as ESG reporting and associated activities, operational efficiency programs, working with our Sustainable Skies Lab, or with our sustainable fuels strategy
  • Assist with implementation of new sustainability initiatives and the development of educational and outreach materials
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to sustainability
  • Prepare and present reports on sustainability initiatives, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders and management

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) 

  • Currently enrolled as a graduate student at an accredited university.
  • Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the internship.
  • Must have at least a 3.0 or higher GPA.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Academic background or experience in climate action, data science, environmental studies and/or sustainability
