ClimateTech Venture Consultant

Planetary Scale is a boutique advisory firm that partners with top-tier, venture-backed climate entrepreneurs to help them build and scale world-class companies with potential for massive planetary impact. We are looking for an exceptional Consultant to join our remote team and play a pivotal role in the transition to a net-zero economy.

As a Consultant at Planetary Scale, you will:

• Collaborate with visionary founders and executives across North America and EMEA to build and scale innovative climate-focused startups.
• Support clients in making key strategic decisions, fundraising from investors, and driving growth, all while having a positive impact on the planet.
• Stay current on the latest developments in climate-related innovation, entrepreneurship, and the startup ecosystem.
• Contribute to the development of a remote, flexible, and inclusive work environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct quantitative & qualitative analysis to support client’s decision making across fundraising, business model development, and resource allocation, among other areas.
• Research and develop expertise in sectors and business models across the climate-focused ecosystem.
• Build and maintain our clients’ financial models, providing founders with strong visibility into their historical and projected performance.
• Support our clients in raising equity, venture debt and grant funding; May include assisting with pitch deck content & design, data room materials, diligence responses, investor outreach, and round structuring.
• Conduct regular financial analysis, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improvement; Support with budgeting, benchmarking, and KPI tracking processes.
• Support our client’s investor reporting function; Preparing detailed-oriented financial reports that clearly communicate their performance to investors and board members.
• Create compelling presentations to communicate complex ideas and confidently present them to clients.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 2-5 years of relevant work experience in a top-tier consulting, finance, or related role (i.e. MBB Strategy Consulting, Investment Banking or similar); Experience working with startups or climate technologies not required but a plus.
• A strong interest in and passion for climate-related innovation, entrepreneurship, and the startup ecosystem.
• Strong business acumen, communication skills and general analytical abilities.
• Advanced spreadsheet and financial modeling skills.
• Good general knowledge of finance, accounting, and entrepreneurial frameworks.
• Competence in creating presentations and presenting complex ideas to clients.
• The ability to switch contexts and adapt quickly to new challenges.
• A commitment to sustainability and driving positive planetary impact.

Pay & Benefits:

• $90,000 – $130,000 annual salary; Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location
