ABOUT BEARTOOTH GROUP
Beartooth Group (www.beartoothgroup.com) is a conservation-driven private investment firm working to save the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem — one of the most important wild places on the planet. For more than twenty years, we have acquired, restored, protected, and resold ecologically critical ranch properties across Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. We undertake this work for today’s trout, grizzly bears, moose, antelope, raptors, and humans, and for the generations to follow. To date, we have restored 67 miles of creeks and rivers and protected, or managed the protection of, 49,000 deeded acres. We do this work because we believe the Greater Yellowstone is irreplaceable and we are uniquely qualified to play a meaningful role in its protection.

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a partner in this work — someone who will lead our fundraising and investor relations function, raise capital, scale our impact, and expand the community of people who fund what we do. This person will also have a seat at our Investment Committee table, contributing perspective on the investments we pursue. The right candidate will rapidly grow into a firm-wide leadership role. The ceiling here is set by the person, not by the seat. The candidate we are looking for is authentically passionate about the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and able to convey that passion as a story — one that leaves a high-net-worth investor excited to join our cause. They are extremely ambitious and guided by an unwavering moral compass. They are the kind of person who builds genuine relationships that benefit all parties, and they are a masterful communicator and storyteller in both verbal and written formats. They are also someone who is genuinely excited to spend significant time on the road with current and prospective investors — this work cannot be done from a desk.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will lead fundraising for current and future investment vehicles, including funds, co-investments, and custom mandates. Specifically, they will:
• Translate the firm’s impact and financial performance into compelling narratives
• Oversee the creation of pitch decks, PPMs, quarterly reports, impact reports, and more
• Generate a pipeline of investor prospects
• Pitch prospective investors
• Cultivate and manage relationships with existing limited partners, ensuring a best-inclass investor experience
• Participate in development of firm strategy, fund structuring, and investment selection

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Authentic, demonstrated passion for the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem — its wildlife, its waters, and the way of life it sustains.
• Desire and ability to deeply connect with fellow human beings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated capacity to articulate compelling stories.
• Demonstrated experience leading capital-raising efforts from high-net-worth individuals at a private equity firm, conservation organization, or similar entity — ideally 5+ years, though we are open to less if your record speaks for itself.
• Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree in relevant subject preferred
• Desire to travel extensively and to spend significant time with current and prospective investors — this is core to the role, not an occasional requirement.
• Bozeman-based. Living here is part of the role — being able to see the country we are protecting, building relationships in the community that has shaped our work for over twenty years. We are open to truly exceptional candidates living elsewhere, but our strong preference is that you live in Bozeman.
• A passion for our work far beyond a salary: you would do this work even if it paid less.
• Emotional intelligence and personal communication skills are among your strongest skills. This role is built on relationships with sophisticated, discerning people; it does not work without empathy, curiosity, and other “people skills”.

COMPENSATION
Base salary range: $175,000 – $250,000, commensurate with experience. The role also includes additional variable compensation, including an earned performance bonus and a path to equity participation earned over time.

TO APPLY
Please submit a resume and cover letter to Carrie Faulhaber at [email protected]. The cover letter should address the list of qualifications above.
