The ideal candidate for this position is:

• A critical thinker and agile writer, capable of spotting and elucidating news and trends in the business and finance arenas
• Motivated to find scoops and dig into behind-the-scenes narratives
• Able to produce in-depth, reported features as well as quick hit trend pieces and deal writeups
• Willing to challenge norms, embrace the energy of passionate individuals, and push for insightful exploration of new solutions
• Not afraid to get into the weeds on wonky topics, when necessary
• A team player who enjoys a collaborative (but virtual) work environment
• Ready to spread your wings and work with a top notch team of experienced editors and writers
• Knowledge of business and finance is required; expertise in private equity, climate finance, impact investing and/or data journalism preferred

The successful candidate will work remotely as part of a dynamic team across locations, including California, New York, Texas, and Europe and Africa, with partners in Asia and Latin America. We are a small, creative team that punches above its weight. Our work culture prizes collaboration, respect, initiative and a sense of fun.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct original, accurate, and compelling research, reporting, and writing on feature stories, deals, and trends in impact investing, sustainable finance, and entrepreneurship
• Cultivate and maintain sources with an eye toward breaking news (including “conceptual” scoops) and smart analysis of industry developments
• Collect, analyze, and present data engagingly, and help develop new products and services leveraging editorial content
• Manage projects, including organizing special features, sponsored content, and events
• Participate in team engagements such as editorial calls, event/presentation support, and project collaboration
• Represent ImpactAlpha and contribute reporting from events and conferences

Compensation and benefits:

• $60,000-$100,000 annual salary, based on skills and experience level (please note that the salary for candidates outside of the U.S. will be aligned with the local job market).
