About this Role

Are you fascinated by impact investing, real estate finance, and private equity? Do you want to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of social impact and financial strategy? SoLa Impact is looking for a dynamic and analytical Private Equity & Investments Intern to join the team this summer. This is not just an internship—it is an opportunity to work alongside top-tier finance professionals, making a real difference in underserved communities. The position will last from Monday, May 20th to Friday, August 23rd, 2024, and will be based at The Beehive, 961 E. 61st Street, Los Angeles, CA 90001. The intern will work flexible hours, generally from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with compensation of $17.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in financial modeling, forecasting, and investment analysis for real estate projects.
  • Conduct market research on real estate trends, economic indicators, and investment opportunities.
  • Support capital raising efforts, including investor presentations and pitch materials.
  • Help analyze portfolio performance, tracking key financial metrics and risk factors.
  • Collaborate with the Investments team to evaluate potential acquisition opportunities.
  • Work with fund managers, lenders, and institutional investors to gain exposure to real estate private equity strategies.
  • Prepare research reports and summaries to support investment decisions.
  • Gain firsthand experience in Opportunity Zone investing and impact-driven financial strategies.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Finance, Business, Economics, Real Estate, or related degree program.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with financial modeling experience being a plus.
  • Strong analytical, research, and quantitative skills.
  • Passion for real estate finance, private equity, and social impact investing.
  • A self-starter with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Interest in Opportunity Zone investments and affordable housing development.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial data with discretion.
