About this Role

The Project Finance Manager at BFA Global is tasked with overseeing financial planning and analysis for consulting engagements and projects. This critical role involves budgeting, monitoring, and ensuring profitability while managing essential operational and financial resources needed for successful project outcomes. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Project Finance Manager ensures that the financial elements of projects align with the organizational goals and strategies. In this position, the manager takes a proactive approach to financial management, comprehensively overseeing project budgets, analyzing financial performance, and conducting financial modeling. In collaboration with a team of consultants, the role also involves contractual negotiations to align with financial goals and compliance needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage engagements and project budgets in collaboration with consultants to ensure commercial viability.
  • Monitor and analyze project financial performance, providing actionable insights to enhance profitability.
  • Conduct financial modeling to support project planning and resource allocation decisions.
  • Oversee the contracting process for subcontractors, vendors, and clients to align with financial goals and compliance requirements.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities for consulting projects.
  • Provide in-depth financial analysis and reporting on project performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Refine financial processes to ensure alignment with organizational goals and financial sustainability.
  • Manage resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and budgets, to ensure projects are adequately supported.
  • Ensure that the financial and operational aspects of projects meet required quality standards.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to project managers and coordinators, building their financial and operational expertise.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field.
  • A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), ACCA, CFA, or similar designations.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, focusing on consulting firms or professional services.
  • Proven track record in project financial management, including budgeting, monitoring, and profitability analysis.
  • Experience in managing complex projects across multiple geographies.
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial tools and data analytics, including spreadsheets.
  • Exceptional project planning, budgeting, and monitoring skills in consulting environments.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing and mentoring high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
