Position Overview

The Rockefeller Foundation (RF) seeks a Senior Associate on the Resource Mobilization team to support key Foundation initiatives in building strategic partnerships and alliances; and mobilizing capital and other resources to scale the Foundation’s people-centered climate strategy. Resource Mobilization is responsible for identifying and cultivating new and existing partnerships with private and corporate philanthropies, family offices and donor-advised funds, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, development banks, and bilateral aid agencies.

Reporting to the Vice President, Resource Mobilization, this role will support the Foundation’s program teams with the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of funding partners to leverage its investments and execute its organizational strategy to promote the well-being of humanity and reverse the climate crisis.

Pay Range: $95,211- $130,627. This represents the present low and high end of the Foundation’s pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience.

Work Schedule: This role is on a hybrid work schedule, and required to be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct background research on stakeholders, organizations, and prospective partners aligned with The Rockefeller Foundation’s priority initiatives by using donor prospecting and secondary research tools.
  • Provide support for the full lifecycle of the partnership formation process including proposals, negotiation, relationship management, and reporting.
  • Assess and identify growth opportunities for existing partnerships.
  • Contribute to analytical work for the Rockefeller Foundation’s Resource Mobilization strategy and draft memos to ensure cross-team collaboration and communication.
  • Track and maintain the partnership pipeline for The Foundation.
  • Maintain and update Salesforce to ensure up-to-date and accurate documentation of contacts and partner interactions.
  • Assist in drafting and maintaining processes and policies related to Resource Mobilization; serve as a champion within the organization for the adoption of these new practices.
  • Collaborate with teams across the Foundation – such as Programs, Legal, IT, Connected Leaders, and Strategic Communications to help the team achieve its goals
  • Cultivate relationships with current and existing partners.
  • Provide operational, organizational, and administrative support for events, convenings, and outreach activities.
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Generally expected to have 5 – 7 years of relevant experience in business development, fundraising, strategic partnerships, and/or resource mobilization.
  • Familiarity with the philanthropic sector and/or government grants and contracts is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn new applications and to navigate multiple platforms.
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written; experience generating visual representations of program outcomes.
  • Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure; ability to multitask and prioritize work amidst competing demands.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: diplomacy, patience, and team orientation.
    Self-starter with a strategic and entrepreneurial mentality
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
