Susan Chaffin has 30 years of experience in emerging markets, private sector partnerships, and gender-inclusive solutions. Having founded in 2002, SBC Global Advisors, Inc., a research, strategy, and advisory firm, she designs, implements, and evaluates programs on digital innovation, financial inclusion, climate adaptation, clean energy, healthcare, water, and entrepreneurial education.

Susan provides technical expertise to accelerators, impact investors, DFIs, corporations, foundations, and non-profit organizations. She has had leading roles at UNDP as Head of the Business Call to Action Secretariat, an inclusive business imitative partnering with companies to scale the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); as Head of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning for the Nairobi-based SPRING impact accelerator aiming to empower adolescent girls; and as Team Leader for the Energy Enterprise Coach aiming to scale clean energy enterprises in Africa and Asia.

Susan began her career in emerging markets research at Baring Securities and Banco Serfin in Mexico. She is a mock-investor for the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship and a mentor for Africa-based entrepreneurs. Storytelling, Human Centered Design, critical thinking, and empathy infuse her outlook.

Focus areas include climate and clean energy, healthcare, water, financial services, entrepreneurial education, digital transformation, agriculture, circular economy, gender equality, youth employment and payers at scale for early-stage ventures.
