Jibu's journey to affordable clean water
Business Overview:
The Marketing & Communications team oversees the marketing and communication strategy of BNP Paribas in the Americas, predominately for the Corporate & Institutional Banking franchise, in collaboration with the Group (Paris) communications teams. The functions of this group today include: Events & Sponsorship, Media Relations, Marketing, Social Media, Content, Philanthropic Initiatives, Advertising, Client Creative Services, Internal Communications and Video Services.
In all countries where we do business, the Group manages its philanthropic initiatives around three fields of action: community, environment and culture. We are dedicated to helping people in our communities, promoting culture and the arts, and leading the way for environmental sustainability in banking. From 2019 to 2023, the BNP Paribas Group allocated €500 million for its philanthropy activities in the areas of solidarity, the environment and culture, or nearly 1% of its net income attributable to equity holders (estimated at 01/02/2024).
The Head of Philanthropy will oversee and manage a variety of philanthropic activities, including, but not limited to:
o   Bank-wide volunteer events: We partner with local nonprofits to create volunteering service projects that produce tangible benefits externally in our communities and internally for our employees to get involved in. Through our volunteering, we instill pride amongst employees and provide leadership opportunities, while promoting and cultivating civic change.
o   Matching gift program: The Bank will match donations to eligible organizations dollar-for-dollar, up to a maximum of $500 per employee per calendar year.
o   Help2Help program: Group level initiative that honors employees who are substantially and personally involved in charitable organizations outside of their work at that Bank.
o   Rescue & Recover fund: Launched in 2012, the Rescue & Recover Fund is an innovative device for collecting donations, which permits the bank to react quickly and effectively in case of a humanitarian disaster.
The Head of Philanthropy will also be an evangelist for the 1MillionHours2Help program which has been created to unite BNP Paribas staff globally in making a tangible and sustained impact by offering ways to contribute time and efforts to local charities and non-profits. The program encompasses all philanthropic actions such as individual volunteering, pro bono initiatives and immersive skills-based experiences.
The candidate will also be responsible for communications activities promoting philanthropic initiatives, as well as more broad social impact communications, which would include communications for our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
