Aligning Capital with Mission with Lindsay Zizumbo
In a world where capital can be a powerful driver of change, foundations are increasingly leading the way in rethinking how investments and grants can align with mission and impact. The Sorenson Impact Foundation is at the forefront of this movement, having fully committed to a 100% mission-aligned portfolio a decade ago. This Luminarias fireside chat will delve into what it takes to leverage every dollar—grants, program-related investments, and mission-related investments—for maximum social and environmental impact.
Lindsay Zizumbo, Executive Director of the Sorenson Impact Foundation, will join Impact Entrepreneur’s Laurie Lane-Zucker to share key insights and lessons learned from over 10 years of implementing a mission-aligned strategy. The conversation will explore how Sorenson restructured its portfolio to ensure alignment across grantmaking and investments, creating a seamless “through line” that connects financial decisions to its broader impact goals.
In addition to unpacking Sorenson’s approach, Lindsay will share her perspectives on timely topics that matter to impact practitioners today. Why should capital markets stakeholders pay attention to what foundations are doing? What role do employee ownership models play in fostering equitable economic outcomes, and why is Sorenson prioritizing this area? How is the foundation collaborating with family offices to navigate emerging trends in impact investing?
This fireside chat promises to offer actionable strategies and thought-provoking insights for anyone in the impact space seeking to align financial resources with mission and scale systemic solutions. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from a leader shaping the future of mission-driven capital.
