Laurie Lane-Zucker is Founder and CEO of Impact Entrepreneur, PBC, a company dedicated to fostering the Impact Economy. Impact Entrepreneur hosts the Impact Entrepreneur Network, a large, global community of “systems-minded” entrepreneurs, investors, and scholars focused on social and environmental innovation. Laurie also serves as editor and publisher of Impact Entrepreneur, a digital magazine dedicated to the emerging Impact Economy.
With over 30 years of experience, Laurie has been recognized as a pioneer and leader in sustainability, social enterprise, and impact investing. He was the founding Executive Director of the international environmental organization Orion Society and editor for Orion Magazine, described as “the philosophical voice of the environmental movement” by the Boston Globe. Laurie also founded the Triad Institute, a global sustainability think-tank, and Hotfrog, a Founding B Corporation and GIIRS Pioneer Company, which was the first to complete an equity transaction on an impact investment exchange.
Laurie is a multiple award-winning publisher, editor, and contributing author of books and magazines on sustainability and social impact. He has collaborated with acclaimed authors on their bestselling works, such as Wendell Berry (In the Presence of Fear), Barry Lopez (Patriotism and the American Land), Terry Tempest Williams (The Open Space of Democracy), and David James Duncan (God Laughs & Plays). Laurie is also the author of numerous articles on entrepreneurship and impact investing, and a contributing author to the recently published academic textbook, Sustainability: Business and Investment Implications (World Scientific, 2023).
Laurie has organized over 100 conferences, leadership summits, and seminars — including the landmark 1996 Watershed Conference at the American Library of Congress and the 1999 Fire & Grit Conference at the National Conservation Training Center. He has been a keynote speaker at international impact conferences from Istanbul to Sydney and has organized programs with over 40 leading colleges and universities, as well as prominent impact organizations, including Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Mission Investors Exchange, and the Aga Khan Trust for Culture.
