Ethical Finance Needs an Outcome Ledger
What Islamic finance and impact investing can learn from each other

Infomaniak, the Geneva-based cloud and digital collaboration provider, has been listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange since October 1, 2026, under the ticker INFO. The listing opened its capital to outside shareholders and left its control exactly where it was.
That control belongs to the Infomaniak Foundation, a Swiss public-interest foundation overseen by the Geneva cantonal authorities. The Foundation holds all of the company’s Class A shares, which are unlisted and cannot be freely transferred. They carry 63.3% of the voting rights for 14.7% of the capital, so no takeover is possible without the Foundation’s consent. Only the Class B shares trade on the exchange. As the company put it in its listing announcement, “What is traded on the stock exchange is Infomaniak’s economic value, not its independence.”
The Foundation does not run the business, which stays in the hands of the board of directors and the executive team. Its role as reference shareholder is set out in a Charter of Shareholdings, signed before a notary in Geneva in May 2026, which lists nine principles, among them independence, digital sovereignty, privacy and environmental responsibility. According to Infomaniak, the Foundation Board can strengthen those principles but never weaken them.
Control was secured first. In May 2026, the founder and the company’s shareholders unanimously agreed to reduce their own voting rights in favor of the Foundation. Only then did Infomaniak seek a listing, which it reached through a reverse takeover of Perrot Duval Holding SA, a company listed since 1905, rather than a traditional IPO.
According to SIX, Infomaniak is also the first Certified B Corp listed on the Swiss exchange. Jonathan Normand of B Lab Switzerland, who shared the news with Impact Entrepreneur, describes the arrangement as steward ownership on a public market, with investors sharing in the company’s value while the Foundation keeps control.
Founded in Geneva in 1994 by Boris Siegenthaler, Infomaniak designs and operates its own data centers in Switzerland, employs more than 300 people there and serves about 300,000 paying clients. The company says its services, contracts and data location are unchanged by the listing.
