Program structure

Year 1 — On campus at UCSC

• Engage in interdisciplinary coursework covering natural and social sciences, economics, policy analysis, coastal governance, leadership, and innovation.
• Develop skills in designing scalable, interdisciplinary solutions to complex environmental and social problems.

Year 2 — Immersive capstone experience

• Relocate near your capstone project site anywhere in the US or internationally.
• Collaborate closely with partner organizations to co-design and implement impactful projects addressing real-world coastal challenges.
