Genevieve Bennett, an Impact Entrepreneur Correspondent, has more than a decade of experience in environmental markets and finance with expertise in innovative models in the bioeconomy and restoration economy, climate finance, biodiversity crediting, and water markets. She currently directs strategic outreach at Forest Trends, building partnerships to mobilize finance at scale and through thought leadership and meaningful engagement of our network. She has authored the first comprehensive global market assessments of nature-based water sector investments and biodiversity credits, and written for a range of trade and academic publications including Environmental Finance magazine, Civil Engineering, and Nature, on topics including biodiversity finance, natural infrastructure, eco-entrepreneurship, strategies for scaling public and private conservation investments, and other market cross-cutting issues. She was one of the founding advisors on the world's first nature-based startup accelerator, and currently is a Board-level advisor on several social enterprises focused on regenerative agriculture and building market channels/consumer demand for bioregional food systems. She holds an MSc from the London School of Economics, a certificate in alternative investment from Harvard Business School Online, and a BA from New York University.
